First dentist visit

Katelyn had her first dentist visit last week. Katelyn did an excellent job. The dental hygienist showed her all the gadgets and she laid right back to have her teeth cleaned. It helped that there was a TV on the ceiling. The dentist said her teeth are healthy. Our only concern is the thumbsucking. We have a year to break the habit before the dentist steps. She left with lots of treats (stickers, balloon, bouncy ball), so overall it was a success.

Katelyn's 3rd and Ellie's 1st

Katelyn turned 3 and Ellie turned 1 the first week of June. I can't believe how fast the year went.

Sorry it's been a month

I'm tempted to take the blog down because I do an awful job of keeping it up. Here are a couple of pictures from vacation. I"m sure you all have all seen Judy's so you got some good ones. I think I need Allison to continue to hound me every couple of days so I post new pics. We are heading to DC tomorrow, so I'll try to post more when we get back.

Pampering ourselves

Katelyn's new thing is to wrap her head up in a towel. Of course, the wet towel weighs as much as she does, so it falls off rather quickly, but we were able to get this photo before it fell over. I think it is rather cute.

We also went to a Memorial Day pool party. Ellie had a great time lounging in the pool.

Negligent in my picture posting

So May is always like this. I am going a mile a minute and haven't taken the time to post any pictures. Unfortunately, I don't have any spectacular ones to post. These are from Mother's Day weekend in Louisville at the Bibelhauser clans. There is also one of the girl swimming with Emily. Both girls LOVE the water. Can't wait for the beach. We also have a picture of 4 generations of Biblehauser/Coombs/Calhoun girls.

Weekend with the grandparents

Kit and Marilyn came in for the weekend. The kids had a blast. We went to the park and Katelyn searched for rocks in the creek. Ellie went for a mini hike in the back pack. There was also a kidfest at JCC. Katelyn loved jumping in the blowup bouncy thing and the petting zoo. Ellie was most content getting wet and splashing in the duck pond game.

Easter in Louisville

We went to Louisville last weekend for Easter. Katelyn had a ball searching for eggs. She particularly loved all the treats she got in her basket and from her loving aunts.

Bibelhauser Fest

We had winter/early spring Bibelhauser fest at our house this weekend. Mom, Sherry, Joyce and Allison came down to visit us. We had a very nice time. Katelyn loves all the attention she receives, and I love the extra hands they bring. Katelyn had her first experiences with geo-caching and loved opening the "treasures".

Katelyn's Princess Party

Katelyn was invited to a Princess Party for Iris' 3rd Birthday. All the little girls came in their princess attire. They colored princess pictures, made necklaces, painted their nails and made picture frames with gems on them. Overall, it was a very fun, cute time.

Snow Day

We had snow last Friday and Katelyn had a ball. She mainly just wanted to lay her face in it and eat it.

Ellie loves her veggies

Grandma Karen came for a visit last weekend with Aunt Sherry. Ellie is showing her pleasure with eating her veggies.

I"m a blog slacker

Sorry guys that I have not posted more often lately. Things have just been crazy. We have been traveling ALOT. We went to Boston for Christmas, then Louisville last weekend and are in DC this weekend. So needless to say, there has not been a lot of time for me to sort through pictures and post. I am currently in DC, but promise to post some pictures when I get back. Feel free to email me with reminders (Allison :D).

Christmas

I know I have been terribly negligent in posting here. We had a nice Christmas in Boston with Alan's brother. Unfortunately, we were all plagued by terrible colds from which we are still recovering. Katelyn loved the idea of Christmas and opening presents. She doesn't quiet get the connection between Santa and presents, but was quite eager to open any present she could put her hands on.

There was a nice children's mass that Susanna and Rebecca were a part of as they re-enacted the Nativity scene. A tired Katelyn slept through it all.

Visiting Amelia Island

Ellie had her first visit to the beach this weekend. We all went to visit Marilyn and Kit at their place in Amelia Island. It was a bit cold, but we bundled up and went to the beach anyway. We tried to dodge the high tide, but we still managed to get a bit wet which Katelyn thought was very funny.

Mi gordita

Ellie started on cereal this week. She LOVES it. She sees a spoon and her mouth opens. She also had her 6 month appointment yesterday (a few days early). She weighed in at 18 lbs 13 oz which puts her at 90-95th percentile. She is still my little chunk. Everything looked healthy.

While in Louisville for Thanksgiving, Katelyn helped Grandma put up her tree. We are looking forward to Christmas this year as she will understand better what is going on.

Growing so fast!

Ellie is one of the most easy-going, happy babies I have seen. Of course, I am biased. She seems to know that I need a peaceful child to go along with my independent, spirited one.

I can't believe Ellie is five months old. She is getting so big, so fast.

Halloween

We took the girls trick or treating and they had a wonderful time. We went with some of our neighbors. It was a great opportunity to hang out with neighbors we knew and to meet new neighbors. Katelyn quickly got the hang of trick or treating, and by the end, was asking for more as she walked down the driveways. She now wakes up in the mornings asking for treats. Katelyn was a Grace Princess and Ellie was a bunny.
