Grandparents' Weekend

This past Friday was Grandparents' Day at the girls' school. It is a wonderful time for the grandparents to be able to come to the kids school, see their classrooms and be treated to a sweet performance. We were blessed to be able to have my mom and my Grandma Libby (age 91) come for a visit. The kids were giddy leading up to Grandparents' Day. Actually it was Owen who started the excitement, asking every day for a week when Grandma was coming. When the big day came, Ellie woke up at the crack of dawn with anticipation. As has every class before hers, her kindergarten class recited the alphabet Bible verses in unison. She had practiced dutifully for weeks before. Numerous songs were memorized and sung to perfection. Katelyn had much practice the week before belting out numbers during dinner.

Katelyn fixed Grandma Libby's hair after school.

This is my favorite from the weekend. They were all piled up on Sherry's couch watching
Shrek with Grandma Libby.

Thanks Grandma Libby (and mom of course) for coming to visit. Grandma Libby is an amazing woman. She has always been a support in my life and one of my biggest cheerleaders. When my dad passed away, she always treated my mom like she was just one of her kids. When mom remarried, then she welcomed Larry in as well as one of her clan. If it weren't for Grandma Libby, I would have never been able to go to Vanderbilt. She helped me financially, but more importantly, she had the faith that I could do it and should. At 91, she is still spunky and loves her family well. Who else at 91 would come all the way to Nashville to venture into the chaos of our world with three not-so-calm kiddos. Love you!
